Flower Bed Dirt Jump Fun

dirt-jump

With it being so hot and humid in Doha, Qatar. I’ve been in hiding… 😉 But I need to practice my photoshop skills too. A good friend of mine, Traci, made me promise to shoot atleast anything in my backyard and with that in mind, I came up with this idea. I 1st found the location, then shot it, then I photographed my bicycle, teaspoon and then myself and added them altogether into the location for a fun shoot in the garden, forced perception.

The Red Bus Tour

Lions-Head-Direction

My parents and I took the red bus tour through and around Cape Town. This was taken on our way back to the Waterfront. I’m really happy with how this image turned out. Awesome composition with no cars ahead and everyone’s attention is focused on Lions Head to the left apposite the 12 Apostles.

The Old Still Stands Strong

The-Old-Fort

An old British fort still stands strong on a hill overlooking the small town of Prieska, in the Northern Cape of South Africa. This was taken 5min after the sun had set behind the hills giving a beautiful glow of light.

Love the Karoo

Was blessed to spend 2 nights in the Karoo near the 3 Sisters. After capturing the sunset, thought I’d pose for a self portrait with that beautiful backdrop 🙂

Last Light over Prieska

Sunset-at-Prieska

Sunset I captured on the hill above the small town of Prieska, well known for it’s history in the Boer war.

Veldrift

Veldrift

This beautiful little scene was captured during sunset in a small fishing town, off the coast of the Western Cape in South Africa, called Veldrift.

My Toy Volvo

Tilt shift image of a digger parked down in a pit during lunch time. I was high up on a bridge overlooking the construction area. Looks like a toy in a sand pit.

Lighthouse

_MG_0224

This long exposure came out pretty awesome! I set my camera up with the shutter release cable attached and then let it run for 9min. The light in the top corner is 3 aircraft that came in for landing at the Doha International airport. Looks almost as if the light is coming from the 1 tall building in the Background. Amazing how they all perfectly line up for landing, except for 1 which had a up and down motion in it’s movement.

Seven

_MG_0219

This is that tall art sculpture, called Seven. I went inside, set up my tripod, tilted my camera straight up into the sky and then shot a long exposure of the interior of Seven. With the huge spot lights outside, the light within comes from the reflections of light bouncing from the sides of Seven. I like the finished product, giving it a real abstract design.

The Gulf

The-Gulf

The sun had already set. This is 3 different exposures, an HDR. In the far distance is Doha.

Dusk in the Gulf

Dusk in the Gulf

5 portrait pano stitched of Doha cityscape to the left, the Intercontinental hotel in the middle and the Pearl to the right.

Golden Cape Sunset

Cape-Sunset

Taken at the foot of Helderberg Mountain, 3 images as the sun quickly stuck out between the dark clouds. It was truly amazing to see. Love the golden reflection on the sea in the middle and the silhouette of Table Mountain to the far right in the distance.

Apocalypse

Apocalypse

This is a sunset shot I took a few days ago here in Qatar. But in Photoshop, I rotated the image 180 degrees, then cut off a round edge on top, created a red core running along the edge, used some optical flare brushes for the “explosion” and then downloaded a wallpaper for the stars in the background.
Earth has reached its end..

Arabian Skies

Arabian Skies

Taken just 30 minutes after the sun had gone down, I managed to find a high point on a dune looking up towards the beautiful sky as I captured my friend looking out on the epic view 😀

Courage

Courage

Was lucky to have nobody approach the side as I captured this awesome shot of my girlfriend and the magnificent art structure, called Seven.
